A Family-Run Hotel with Heart

At The Manor House, we are proud to be a family-run hotel, offering something very different from the experience of a large corporate chain. For us, hospitality is personal. It is about warmth, authenticity, thoughtful touches and creating a place where guests feel genuinely welcomed and cared for from the moment they arrive.

Set in the beautiful village of West Bexington, The Manor House has stood for more than 500 years, and we feel incredibly privileged to be part of its continuing story. The character, history and charm of this remarkable old house are woven into everything we do — from its unique rooms and quiet corners to the atmosphere of comfort and relaxation that so many guests return for time and time again.

As a family-run hotel, we believe the little things matter. We enjoy getting to know our guests, sharing our favourite places in Dorset, recommending hidden beaches, local walks, independent food producers and artisan makers, and helping people experience the county as locals rather than tourists.

We want every stay to feel personal, memorable and genuine — not polished and impersonal. Our aim is for guests to feel less like customers and more like part of The Manor House story itself.

Over the centuries, this house has welcomed travellers, families and visitors from all walks of life, and today we are proud to continue that tradition. By sharing its heritage, warmth and sense of place, we hope our guests not only enjoy their time here, but leave feeling connected to Dorset, to West Bexington, and to the unique spirit of The Manor House.

For many of our guests, that connection brings them back again and again — and we believe that is what makes a truly special stay.

Our Dorset

Tucked away in the peaceful village of West Bexington, our little corner of Dorset is a place we are proud to call home. From the dramatic Jurassic Coast to rolling countryside, hidden coves, fishing harbours and chocolate-box villages, Dorset is a county full of beauty, character and unforgettable experiences.

We feel incredibly lucky to live and work here, and one of the greatest joys of welcoming guests is sharing the places we love most.

Spend your days exploring the historic streets of Lyme Regis, famous for its fossils, independent shops and charming harbour. Wander along the seafront in Weymouth, enjoy fish and chips by the beach, or take in the stunning cliffs and coastal views around West Bay. Discover the beauty of Abbotsbury with its historic village streets, subtropical gardens and breathtaking views over Chesil Beach.

Dorset is a place best explored slowly. Hunt for fossils along the Jurassic Coast, walk miles of unspoilt beaches, or follow winding footpaths through the countryside and along the South West Coast Path. Every season brings something different — wildflowers in spring, long beach days in summer, golden countryside in autumn and dramatic coastal skies in winter.

We also love Dorset for its wonderful local food and creative community. From fresh seafood and farm shops to cosy pubs, artisan bakeries and talented local makers, there is always something special to discover. We encourage our guests to explore beyond the guidebooks, support local businesses and experience the real Dorset.

Whether you are here for adventure, relaxation or simply a breath of sea air, we hope you will fall in love with Dorset just as much as we have.

We look forward to welcoming you and helping you discover all the magic this beautiful county has to offer.
